The support and advice was invaluable...
"We needed a good body of knowledge and expertise, and we really got that from GroCycle. The support and advice we received was invaluable - it was the base of everything that LifeCykel has been built on"

I have been absolutely delighted...
"My big fear about courses are that I will get a few small gems and waste a lot of time when I can usually just search the net. Let me say I have been absolutely delighted with the content, delivery & community you have brought together. Your website, video content & simple presentation has been excellent"
Peter // Australia

Hybrid Course Format
Although the course is self-paced with no fixed timetable, you will also receive a email course series during the first 6 weeks after you join.
During these 6 weeks we'll walk through the main sections of the course with you and invite any questions you may have, supporting you closely as you get familiar with the course content.
Taking part in this 6 week process is entirely optional and there is no need to 'keep up' if you are too busy or have other commitments.
You are absolutely free to learn at your own speed and ask questions as and when they arise in the future.
Some people will want to get stuck in and build their farm straight away and others will take many months to plan and research alongside existing commitments.
Both approaches are absolutely fine - we have current course members at various stages in their journey and it's great to watch and learn from others however you want to go about it.
When you join the course, you get instant lifetime access to all the lessons, so you can keep referring back to the material for years into the future.
This is a really useful feature to an online course format - you have a detailed source to refer back time and time again, as well as ongoing support from us in the private Facebook group and via email.
The support that we offer alongside the course is invaluable if you have questions or are unsure about anything, and we're really keen to help you with your project and make it a success.
The bottom line is this: if you're happy, then so are we.

Deciding to take a course like this can often bring lots of questions, and we totally understand that.
Have a look through this frequently asked questions section below, and if your question isn't answered, just drop me an email to [email protected] and I'll be happy to help.
Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:
Is this course designed for me?
This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn how to design, build & run a small scale mushroom farm. It assumes no prior knowledge – we’ll walk you through the process step by step and be there to support you along the way.
Will this course help to set up a business like yours?
The focus of the course is on teaching you how to grow mushrooms on a small to medium scale (10-50kg/week).
What you decide to do with this is up to you - we aren't here to help you run your business but we can teach you info that will be useful if that's what you want to do.
How much time will I need to put into this?
There is no set amount as the course is a self learning process so you can decide if you want to take it fast or slow. The course material itself is almost 8 hours of video lessons, but you'll obviously spend much more time putting the knowledge into practice. As a rough guide, it may take:
- 2-10 hours planning & designing
- 7-14 days building your set up
- 5-30 hours/week to run (depending on scale of growing: roughly 1 hour per kg mushrooms/week)
When does the course take place?
The course is a hybrid design - it is self-paced but at the same time we also follow a 6 week programme which starts the day after enrolment.
Taking part in the 6 week program is completely optional and it's important to realise you have lifetime access to learn whenever suits you best.
The beauty of this online format is that you can access the membership area with the modules wherever and whenever you want.
You can set your own pace and rewind or pause what you want and make a cup of coffee when you want. You can keep coming back to the material and troubleshooting section as your growing progresses.
Where should I buy my spawn from?
It's best to find a good supplier in your own country or as nearby as possible to reduce transport costs. We provide a list of suppliers in US, EU & AS/NZ as well as info about which strains to grow inside the course.
Can you tell me more about the Grow Kits Masterclass?
The Grow Kits Master Class is designed for those people who want to try and turn their project into more of a full time business.
Grow Kits are one of the best ways of making extra income and spreading the wonder of mushrooms at the same time.
This Master Class contains 20 detailed lessons showing you how to produce, store and sell thousands of kits each year.
Here's a look inside the Grow Kits Masterclass showing you what is taught in the course:
What kind of climate will this work well in?
With the Low Tech approach we take to mushroom growing, there is no heating or cooling of the fruiting room, so growing when the ambient air temperature is between 10-30C (50-86F) works best. You can choose to only grow for parts of the year which fall in this range or you can add heating or cooling solutions, however these tend to be expensive and energy intensive. All other environmental conditions like humidity, light and CO2 levels can be easily and inexpensively managed in any climate.
I'm not able to start building my mushroom farm just yet, so should I wait to take the course later?
It's entirely up to you! Quite a few current course members joined the course, knowing they would build their farm months or even years later. They found it really useful to start learning now and watch and learn from others' progress. You can take your time and plan how you want to do it alongside any existing commitments you already have. Remember, you get lifetime access so you can take things at your own speed and keep coming back to the lessons.
